Let’s agree on a few things…
Terms and Conditions
1. Bid Writing Support service
1.1. BrooksKebbey Ltd (Provider) operates a Bid Writing Support (BWS) service and services related to business and project management. The Provider can support a client with bid writing support (assignment) in three ways – to draft a bid application (e.g. grant, tender, public loan, etc.), to comprehensively check an application against a funder’s criteria that the client has written, or to comprehensively check and then edit an application that the client has written. Business and project management will be bespoke to the activity required.
1.2. Regarding the BWS, If the Provider is providing drafting or editing support, they will meet (in person or virtually) with the client and their project team to discuss the application questions. An AI notetaker will be used for the purpose of capturing enough information to develop a starter for 10 ‘strawman’ first draft. The client is responsible in this and throughout the application for providing enough granularity of information to meet the requirements as set out by the funder – this is not the Provider’s responsibility. The Provider’s job is to draft the application based on the information provided. It is also the client’s responsibility to check whether information provided has been appropriately represented in the draft.
The client and their team will then work with the Provider to develop the drafts of the application. The application is developed by the provider in partnership with the client through-out the duration of the assignment. The Provider will provide drafted material in an off-line (Word) format or by, e.g. Google Docs, but will not be responsible for uploading the finished application onto a funder’s on-line platform – this is the responsibility of the client.
Although the Provider can support on the development of any appendices to be appended to the main application this activity is to be undertaken by the client. Also any details related to specific information on the client’s company needs to be completed by the client.
The BWS service is not Financial Services Authority (FSA) accredited. Therefore, clients are responsible for ensuring that any financial element of the grant is correct (this is not the responsibility of the Provider).
The client is responsible for assuring themselves that their application meets their own and their funder’s criteria/standards before submission.
1.3.Business and project management activity will start with a face-to-face interview to discuss the clients business/project needs. The Provider will then provide a quote for the work for the client’s consideration.
2. Fees
Hourly/daily rates available on request. For activity outside of an agreed/longer term consultant contract or framework, an initial duration (number of days) for an assignment is agreed between the Provider and the client – this providing an initial total fee for the assignment. The commencement fee is charged at 50% of this initial total fee and is payable before the assignment commences. Therefore, this is the service booking fee (no Provider time can be held or allocated to a project without this payment being received by the Provider). The completion of work fee is payable for the balance of time (i.e. up to the remaining 50% (and any other time to be paid that has been agreed in writing over and above this)) on the completion of the assignment.
3. Aims and liabilities
The BWS service aims to improve your chances of winning a bid application. However, bid applications are competitions. As in all competitions an element of choice will be exercised by a funder over which applications to approve, regardless of how well the application is written and how well it meets their criteria. Due to this (also see 1.2), the Provider is not liable (i.e. responsible) for any funding application/s that fail/s to win funding for any reason.
4. Publicity and reporting
The Provider will publicise in its newsletters and over social media all successful BWS service supported funding applications, and the values of those applications, unless a specific application is agreed in advance as being too commercially sensitive (i.e. covered by a non-disclosure agreement) and/or not to be reported in the public domain. The publicity will outline how the Provider was involved in the support of the successful application/s.
