Health and Social Care Supply Chain and Innovation Programme
The Health and Social Care Supply Chain and Innovation Programme is designed to support innovative businesses—whether local to Dorset, from the wider region, or national innovators —to engage with the Dorset health and social care sector.
The programme aims to help some businesses to explore diversifying their offerings, others to showcase their innovative solutions at our Industry Summit in March, on the 26th March and to open up discussions on what future opportunities might develop within the health and social care supply chain.

Visions and Objectives
NHS Dorset plans to make Dorset the Healthiest Place to Live. This programme is aligned with Dorset’s overarching vision: for our county to be the healthiest place to live. Through initiatives like the Health and Social Care Supply Chain and Innovation Programme, we are actively building bridges between the business community and the health and social care sector.
Their Joint Forward Plan (2023–2028) outlines ambitious outcomes, such as improving mental health, tackling childhood obesity, and increasing equity in life expectancy.
These priorities underpin our efforts to create a health and care system where innovation and collaboration flourish, benefiting everyone who lives and works in Dorset.

The Programme builds on this collaborative foundation by fostering partnerships with innovative businesses. It provides a platform for organisations across the region to contribute to Dorset’s health and care goals, from enhancing patient outcomes to improving supply chain efficiencies..
The Health and Social Care Supply Chain and Innovation Programme commenced with two pivotal events. The inaugural event, titled “The Dorset ‘Prospectus’ was held online on 30 January 2025. This session introduced NHS Dorset’s vision and highlighted opportunities for businesses and innovators to engage with the region’s health and social care ecosystem.
The second event, “Working with NHS Dorset and Dorset’s Innovative Universities – What Businesses Need to Know,” took place virtually on 13 February 2025. It provided practical insights into collaborating with NHS and social care systems, detailing key policies, procurement processes, and pathways for effective partnerships. Both events served as platforms for fostering collaboration between industry stakeholders and Dorset’s health and social care sector.
